Creative process
My research engages in a dialogue between the concrete and the abstract, which tends to evoke, in a subtle way, a meaning, a philosophy intrinsically linked to the work.
I measure and prepare volumes of resins and pigments. I then pour the multiple layers of pigmented resin that I paint, by composing chromatic and textural effects with the intention of thinking, deflecting or absorbing light. My research has focused on the participation of this characteristic of the medium and its involvement in the figuration of a theme. I experimented with some thirty works in the year 2019 on the ocean theme. This study then led me to the realization of large-format abstract works that I am currently exploring.
I deepen the wood carving in bas-relief where the perspective is accentuated by adding a third dimension. I see to merge an ancient method and medium, wood carving, with a material and a resolutely contemporary technique, painted resin. This approach opens the way for me to work sculptural and installative in a spirit of development, renewal and openness.
