Rosemary Breault-Landry

Rosemary Breault-Landry is an honors graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, where she studied drawing and sculpture. She taught both these subjects in Quebec City and at the Ottawa School of Art (Orleans campus). She has several commissioned works to her credit, including a bronze bust of Senator James Gladstone, on display in the foyer of the Senate of Canada and a bas-relief of Captain Niccola Goddard, a heroine of the war in Afghanistan, on display at the War Museum. She recently completed a full-sized sculpture of a female cadet for the Royal Military College in Kingston.
Her main interest has always been the three-dimensional representation of the human figure, in various poses. She believes that portraiture, with a focus on likeness, representation and accurate depiction, brings out the essence of our humanity. To that end, she continues to explore this medium, with a view to capturing the fundamental qualities of the human body, including its physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions. Her sculptural works revolve around this main theme.
